Our Scripture.
pride
/prīd/
noun
1. a feeling of deep pleasure or satisfaction derived from one's own achievements, the achievements of those with whom one is closely associated, or from qualities or possessions that are widely admired.
What it is
Pride is an excessive belief in one's own abilities, that interferes with the individual's recognition of “the grace of God”. It has been called the sin from which all others arise. Pride is also known as Vanity.
Why you do it
We take it to heart when a well meaning elementary school teachers told us, "believe in yourself."
Your punishment in Hell will be
Your “God” will have you be broken upon the wheel.
Fear none.
Stand proud of who you are and all you have accomplished.
If it is wrong to have pride in yourself and share this with others,
then consider us the sinful ones.
